Reykjavik, the northernmost capital of the world, seems to mimic the desolate nature that surrounds her. Creations of local artists add to her appeal.
This series was shot near Karosta, the former naval port of the Latvian city of Liepaja. The coastal defenses, which were built in the Soviet era, have disintegrated into colossal chunks of concrete that seem to slowly sink into the wet sand.
