Odessa is an important city historically, and its harbour still is an important one on the Black Sea. A lot of its architecture is based on Western European styles, but its rough edges are what make the city truly unique. This mixture of industry, infrastructure and abandoned buildings are central to this series.
Cyprus is a unique country in Europe, being divided into a Greek Cypriot and Turkish part with a border literally slicing streets and buildings in halves in the capitol. The strong contrasts in this series symbolize this artificial division of two once interwoven cultures.
