Athens is a pretty rough-around-the-edges city, and it’s pretty rough on the inside as well. However, there is a small area on the foot of the Acropolis called Anafiotika, which resembles the Greek charm mostly associated with the country’s islands.
While modern-day Athens hardly resembles the ancient Greek culture, its archaeological sites scattered around the city are the unmistakable proof of days gone by. Sunset is by far the best moment of the day to visit and capture these remains, when the marble acquires a golden glow.
Every city is a three-dimensional mosaic of colors and surfaces. This take on ”the city’ can be recognized in these cityscapes in Southern France, where the blue sky, the white walls and the red rooftops dominate the mosaic.
A certain fascination for the cluttered old architecture in southern and eastern European cities has lead to this colorful portrait of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Few cities have such a clear and consistent color scheme, which makes Zagreb perfect for a series like this one.
